So, I cracked open the Dogfish Head Midas Touch. ($14/4 pack)

Kinda weird. Tons of different flavors. Can't say it hit me like "nectar of the gods" right away, but it is really growing on me. I'll give it a 7/10.

as much as I love hops, you guys are ridiculous for paying the price of 120ipa.

90min is very very solid and can be found on tap fairly easily.

It's kind of sad that to try new beers I would either have to special order or wait for anniversaries/special blends. Actually, have you guys ever had any blends where two breweries mix their beers together? I heard of them doing that in Oregon I believe.

I saw Boddington's at my local 7-11 here and based on the mentions here I picked it up. Wasn't bad, a beat weak but other than that pretty good.

Stone owns me. I love pretty much everything from Stone, but my top picks would be any of their Double Bastards, any of their Imperial Russians, the '06 and '08 Vertical Epics, and the 11th Anniversary Ale (omg black IPA ftw!!!). I just finished off my 4 pack of Dogfish 90 Minute IPA and their definitely on my list of awesome readily accessible IPAs (along with Stone, Drake, Speakeasy, and Flying Dog), still trying to hunt down someone that carries 120 Minute. And I'm a little spoiled, lots of places with great beer selection around here - I can get Drake and He'Brew specialty brews on tap. I even had a pitcher of Allagash Black last month with my pizza, so awesome.

I love beer. Especially good beer.

I'm thinking about getting into the season and trying a pumpkin ale. Can anyone describe it? I've had a chocolate lager before that was pretty gross, which convinced me that some things should just be left alone.

pumpkin ales are wierd. I'd say ~70% are pretty bad...they can taste kind of plasticky and like a normal beer with candy pumpkin pie flavor mixed in. very....fake. Many of them seem to vary year to year.

The ones I like are on the more mellow side:

new holland Ichabod
great lakes

Dogfish head's punkin ale is good if you only have a sip or two...but it's a little to rich tasting for me to drink a whole bottle. I generally don't like sugary beer.

im not really in to beer and the like, this is one that im not sure i *enjoy*, but i tolerate it well enough and its easy to come by
