What is your opinion on sun tanning?

I was watching the video MisshannahMinx uploaded today (love this lady, she makes me laugh and has cute toys and clothes) and I tend to agree with her. My opinion is get out enough in the sun to produce vitamins and process your nutrients efficiently but avoid getting a tan. Tanning makes your skin age faster and causes wrinkles and adds to your risk of skin cancer. I see a tan on a girl and I think "eew, unhealthy", which might be the opposite feeling many of you get. Anyway, I tend to prefer/gravitate towards pasty white ladies as a result.

So what's your take on this?

Taning is probably ok as long as you don't overdo it. Some people react differently. For example, if I spend more then 15 minutes in the sun, I'm red like a tomato. But, the fact of actually getting 15 minutes of sun here is a huge amazement on it's own. I only really get sun burned if I go out of town. Not enough sun here for that.

I tan very easily. I'm still working off the tan I got during the summer, and Ialways get a farmer tan with matching racoon eyes.

Finally bothered to start wearing sunscreen and just biting the bullet, baking in a sweater to block the sun.

lolz you sound like this old dude in a singles group I used to be in. Used to tell all the really young chicks (18-22 or so) that they are too pretentious and need to give it up to him.

Used to call them 'kids' and stuff...we booted him out of the group.

I like to tan myself, naturally...I have no problem with people with or without tans.

Most of my g/f's have been fair skinned though...which made it hard for them to keep up with me at times out and about.

a little color never hurt anyone (except albinos), but dont over do it. im half mexican so i soak up sun like it was food, but it doesnt stay. i can go a week on the beach and get really dark, then be back to light brown in a week. pisses off my ginger ex wife. 2 out of 3 kids got the same thing, but my son burns with a 100w bulb. as long as the skin is taken care of and tanned in moderation, its actually pretty good for your skin.
