I believe they have but I'm not sure. Your cost will go up to $50/mo for that data plan. That's probably my tipping point.

Long as you continue to stay on contract, you'll keep the $30/mo price. I renewed the month the increase took place in Oct/Nov 2015, and locked it in for another 2 years at $30/mo. Hoping to renew it in 2017 to avoid the hike again.

That's assuming they let you renew early...they might stop that just to force your hand.

Don't have to renew early. Just have to renew before the start of your next billing period after your contract ends. So I'm eligible for upgrade on 11/28/17, next billing period doesn't start until 12/09/2017.

My UK plan for comparison

£12/month (about $15 at the current exchange rate)
12GB data
Unlimited texts
Running "speed test" right now has 4g at 26Mbps down and 22Mbps up

You can also use your allowance at no extra cost in 42 other countries.
Previously I had the same deal but with unlimited data, though it never included tethering when it was unlimited.

Another Fi subscriber. I work in a cellular black hole. Verizon wasn't strong enough and my phone would be dead by noon. Tried T-mobile but the wifi calling was terrible across several different devices. Eventually switched to Fi and have been there for a year. I'm very happy with the service and have limited complaints. It's easily the best wifi solution for calling and texting that I've used and has been a life saver for me at work. My bills are about $43-$45 a month and that's with an $18 device fee. So it's closer to $26 for just the service cost. Really a wonderful choice for my cellular use.

Fi here, too, on the 5X. Interested to see when the Pixels get their massive price reductions next year.

My bill never hits $30.

I'm tempted to try Fi. Anyway, I too had bad signal at work. Luckily, I had the ability to install signal booster so that took care of that. Wifi calling is now enabled in most of the newer Verizon phones; my Note4 has it for example. Seems to work fine.

clearly at&t and time warner need to merge so that we can avoid pricing like you get.

TMobile One plan with 6 lines, I think I pay around $35/month per line unlimited data/voice/text (with air quotes) LOL.

If I were to call them right now, my plan is so complex and they're so poorly trained on the software, they probably couldn't tell me what my bill is per month. They just sent me an iPhone 7+ financed and gave me $649 credit towards it with a 16GB 6+. They'll charge me for the $50 difference over 24 months. The bill is just crazy to figure out. Right now, I have a -$15 balance, and literally no idea how that happened.

Last time I was trying to figure it out, I worked with the team that does help on Twitter, ended up feeling so sorry for the CSR, I just roll with it, see what happens.

UK/Japan/etc have always blown away the US, probably due to population density.
Think about the cell/fiber network the US has to have versus UK/Japan.

Verizon with unlimited talk and text plus 2GB of data for $60/mo. I usually use less than 100MB of data, but it's the smallest plan they have.

Jumping from crappy *** Sprint and their terrible data & coverage at $90~ mo, I finally switched.

Oh my god what a world of difference.

Metro PCS is $40 unlimited talk with 3 gb data. I said eff it and upgraded to $60/mo which has unlimited data. (truly unthrottled, unlimited)

I stream the eff out of everything without any reservation- Netflix in the car while wife and I are parked (waiting for something), youtube vids in full quality for toddler in the car, etc. I clock in at 12-15 gigs of data used a month.

$60 flat. Taxes included. Couldn't be happier.

Even T-Mobile has far worse plan (more $, less data) which is what MetroPCS leases their towers from. Crazy.
Ringplus -> FREE for life, free tethering (laptop)
3gigs data/month

bypass the ads/latency for calls by using google Hangouts

downside: if my phone breaks/stolen, I cant get the plan back.
