Lessee... I run Azureus about 10 hrs a day and it says I've got 189 down and 200 up over 3900 hours... so I download/upload roughly a gig a day, ~30 gigs a month. Throw in a few gigs for web stuff and FTP downloads... prolly 35 gigs a month. My record is probably about one and a half times that.

My average over the period of about a 12~18 months was ~28GB down.
One month I had 20GB up, not sure what the average up was though.

However, there are people on my ISP who have downloaded 580GB in one month. Suffice to say, there was a big hoo-hah about it all and they've been kicked off.

As there should be. Unnecessary network strain (during peak time) just slows everyone down. 1 person might not so much, buth when all the sudden everyone starts being internet hogs, it hurts.

Haha I'm told that server is using 4.75 TB a day now.

That's a lot isn't it?

probably about 50-100 gigs or so

don't really keep up with it

i think your poll is skewed a bit, considering pretty much everyone is on broadband these days

NewNet Plc (it's an ISP, i'm a trainee engineer).

2.5gbps Fibre Optic, which is quite low for FO but there's not much call for higher speeds.

Working it out, it's somewhere in the region of 15-20Mbps.

I downloaded about 15GB one month. Looks like you're going to have to increase the upper end of the range.

Supposedly I used $18 million dollars in bandwidth back in December 1999.

I could believe it. All that anti-Bush propaganda takes up a lot of bandwidth

I'm sure he's referring to his Distributed Computing incident.

For me, when I first got broadband and a friend introduced me to DC++.
100 GB the first month, most of which was deleted immediately after download.

120 gigs down, 120 gigs up

cable company didn't care about the 120 down, but they told me to keep it under 30 gigs up in the future. so much for 'unlimited' internet.

it was all bt at the time

Music, music, and more music, mostly trance/techno. Throw in some huge game demos and you have yourself 9 gigs +
