What is your take on the Infinium Labs Phantom Console...

The release date is November 18th. It's hard not to visit HardOCP and not see something about the Phantom Console. But what I would like to know is how many people here would actually buy this console for $29.99 a month (+ taxes etc).

From what I understand, after reading the interviews, and Phantom console will not be like an Xbox, PS2 or GQ. It will use PC games, pretty much the same games we use in our everyday gaming computers. With an Athlon 2500+, NV 5700, 256MB RAM, and 40GB HD, you can pretty much see it is already in need of an upgrade.

Company seems extremely shady. And Gabe and Tycho said bad stuff about it. So, no, I wouldn't consider getting one.

The only poll I see is here from the front page. I will not bother registering to vote as it's not even worth it. If it really is as you say an outdated PC for rent that will only play games, and slower than my own PC I might add, this thing sucks pipe IMO.

the system looks horrible.

#1, what's with the monthly fees? it's not like there's a dedicated team constantly upgrading the content or something (like with a MMOG)
#2, why wouldn't I just play the games on my PC? the specs are better, I have a PS2 controller adapter, and I could easily connect my PC to my television.
