phone review sites need to stop labelling 45° fov cameras as telephoto and 77° fov cameras as regular or normal. 45° is normal, equivalent to 53 mm on your old 35 mm camera. 77° is equivalent to a 28 mm lens on a 35 mm camera, which is wide angle, and 122° is equivalent to 12 mm on a 35 mm camera, which is ultrawide. so far i don't think i've seen anything like a 28° fov, which would be in the short telephoto range.

the Big Bang Theory isn't funny
I always said the show was ruined when all of the nerds got girlfriends. Yeah, like that happens to all of the nerds in real life.
I like the Matrix sequels just fine.
Not even GPS?
GPS can be delivered through a heads-up display and allow the driver to still be looking forward.
I would add destroying any country that produces plastic.
Are you insane? Try to find an existence without plastics. I dare you. I double dare you. I triple dog dare you. Plastics is only one part of man-made material products made from petroleum. Maybe we shouldn't just focus on plastics, but all petroleum based materials. There go your tires, son. Happy walking. Oh, there go your sneakers, too. Happy walking barefooted.

- The LotR movies sucked. Not that I think the books were amazing, but I did enjoy them as a kid.

- I enjoy the animated LotR movie (1971) to the point that I own it on DVD. Yes, it has its flaws, but it's not typical hollywood plot/character garbage.

Probably not unpopular opinions, only one way to find out:
- If you're going somewhere to socialise (inc. watching a film with company), then put down your god damn phone. Valid exceptions are: Answering the phone to the extent of finding out if it's an emergency or helping a friend find the event, looking up information to help a conversation, or emergencies.

- If you're using headphones / earphones out in public, then make an effort to ensure that others can't hear what you're listening to.

- Superhero movies have employed the "oh no, the villain is going to destroy the world" trope far too often.

- 1080p is good enough
SVGA was realistically "good enough".
Story-wise it's subpar and needlessly convoluted under the pretense of being complex. FF7 was so popular because it was a first full 3-D FF game. And it was absolutely gorgeous. Character designs were catchy too.

Squaresoft's best made game is Chrono Trigger. It's JRPG at its finest. It hits all marks - innovative & fun mechanics, tight story, amazing art direction, and amazing soundtrack.
When I went back to play through FF7 again something like 10 years ago, I didn't make it more than a few hours.
Oatmeal cookies are better than chocolate chip cookies
As long as they don't have raisins.
Yeah, unpopular if said out loud, secretly, not so much!
If I went down to one of the bars on Main Street here, they'd probably buy me a beer for saying that.
The only time your eyes should come off the road is to glance at your speed or mirrors. Both your hands should be on the steering wheel 99.9% of the time. Listening to music is much different that having a conversation. Only a selfish person would think it was ok to talk on a phone, text, play games, watch videos, eat, etc. while driving a 2 ton vehicle. Driving is the single most dangerous thing we do on a day so why not treat the privilege with respect?

I'm not trying to be a jerk. When I was younger I did a lot of stupid things in the car. Now that I'm older I realize they were all very selfish. I also now understand that if I had hurt anyone I wouldn't be a able to live with myself. Vehicles are no different than guns as they are both potentially lethal when not treated with respect.
I absolutely don't think texting/playing games/watching videos while driving is acceptable. I'd prefer talking be limited to emergencies. Eating is variable.
As far as stereos, I was talking about the more-than-a-microsecond it takes to change stations, CDs, adjust volume, etc.

I'm not sure if you're being serious or facetious here. I think you might be asking me "are these literally the worst films you've ever seen", to which I'd answer no, but they're bad enough IMO that I would do my utmost to avoid watching them ever again. The only reason I've seen The Two Towers and Return of the King is because my wife likes them, and it was more of the same that I disliked about FotR. Any plus points I'd grant for visuals and artwork are offset by the multitude of minus points I'd penalise it for the shit script.

I don't know how or where to categorize the notion that ketchup is abhorrent and should be abolished, because that isn't an opinion. It's just a fact.

Serious, just seems like a heavy load to fire at them. I enjoy them as well, they do have their weak points, of course. Script sticks well enough to the books for me, and I don't think the books themselves are that great, but I enjoy the execution of the story itself.

It's funny, but I have the opposite unpopular opinion. The movies did a great job of correcting the HUGE problems of pacing in the books and turned a tedious, childish story into something worth watching. It was exceptional film making given the weakness of the source material. I don't know how the book series, Hobbit included, ever gained any traction let alone turned into cultural icons.

Speaking of cultural icons, there has never been a good Star Trek TV series. None of them were consistently good or entertaining. Even the best of them were like an unintentional allegory of outer space itself. VAST regions of emptiness, blackness and monotony punctuated by something interesting happening in isolated areas every once in a while.

- Seafood (other than fish) is nasty - insects of the sea - not sure how anyone can consume that?
- Apple isn't shy about nickel and diming their customers but they just take it every year instead of boycotting.
- Politics & religion are a waste of time. You may as well argue who the best sports team is when it comes to politics. The 2-party system is a ridiculous joke where alliances are formed rather than deciding on individual issues.
- Public sector unions of today are full of selfish fucking pricks who think the public is made of endless supply of money.
