I'll play..

EVGA 8800 GTS 320MB --> 2x ASUS 560 TI DCII TOP 1GB in SLI

Currently waiting to see what to upgrade to next... almost considered 2x ASUS 760 TI DCII 2GB in SLI a month ago but also looked at EVGA GTX 780 FTW 3GB.

OTOH, I'm at the tail end of the 700s and will probably wait for the 800s.

I'm waiting for die shrinks, and/or APU surprises before another upgrade.

Tortuous.

I do remember my Voodoo card. What a difference it was coming from software rendering! With a Voodoo2 I got really good at Quake2. More recently I had a 7970 which I sold for more than I paid for it during the Bitcoin thing, but now I just have a GTX 770 that I got a smokin' deal on. In between are too many. I remember that the card I first played HL2 on was a 7600 GT, though.

No real plans these days I guess, have a R9 280x not really using much these days in here.

A hotter Xeon than the X5650 perhaps when the prices drop.

Not planning a major rebuild in the near future.

This thing still running fine and still haven't stuck the L5639 in the other one

I had a few cards.

Voodoo rush > Voodoo 4mb + 2d card(not really an upgrade but something wasn't right with the rush>(well, even wiki mentions that card as extremely problematic
An attempt to offer a combined 2D/3D solution resulted in the Voodoo Rush, which was much maligned due to various compatibility and performance issues
Voodoo2 8MB from what I remember, there was also 12MB version, Voodoo 3 2000, GF 2 MX(performed like the orginal GF 256)>Radeon 8500(huge boost, one of the biggest)>GF4 Ti4200(but it was probably in my brother's computer which I assembled not mine but I'm not sure>9500pro also a huge performance increase, R300 was legendary, even in a crippled form>X800XT (easily 2,5X more perf, I want such increases now!)>7900GTO@GTX almost 2x faster>8800GTS 512 more then 2x faster>4890>5870>6950@6970>CF>4-way with 6990>2x7970GHZ (very briefly, I returned them very fast, unbearable noise>TITAN

The current machine was HD 5450 --> HD 5770 --> GTX 570 --> HD 7970

Just got the HD 7970 this week. It is fast, but doesn't feel like as much of a difference as the previous ones given that most games were already playable at high 1080p with the GTX 570 and now can be maxed. The HD 5450 --> HD 5770 was probably the biggest upgrade in terms of visuals.

ATI RAGE 128 Pro - Good enough for Counter Strike and Max Payne at 800x600, still a shitty card
Geforce 2 Ti - Good enough for Counter Strike and Max Payne at 1024x768
ATI 9700 (non pro) - Good enough for Doom 3, Splinter Cell, UT2003, Midnight Club II at 1024x768
ATI x1600 XT - Good enough for Gothic III, all of the NFS games at the time, Oblivion, KOTOR, Original Far Cry at 1440x900
BFG 9800 GT (Double lifetime warranty ) - Good enough for Starcraft II, Warcraft III, WOW at 1080p
Galaxy GTX 660 - Play most games today at 180P
AMD 290X - Eats everything I threw at it

I feel too young to be on these forums...

Geforce FX 5200
ATi Radeon 9250 256MB
Geforce 7300GS 256MB
ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB
AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB
(Future) Probably R9 4XX series

I've been a broke kid most of my life hence the real low end stuff up until this past year or so when I finally got some money together to get myself a real card. CPU wise its been:

Celeron D 325 2.53Ghz
Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0Ghz
Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.9Ghz
AMD FX 6100 3.3Ghz
AMD FX 8350 4.0Ghz
(Future) Something Intel.

I'll start from the first card I really remember because I can't remember the first ones.
ATI X300
Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB
HD 6970
GTX 670
HD 7970@7970GHz
GTX 780Ti

Not sure what will come next.

CPUs (again from some point in the past):
E8400
I5 2500k
I5 3570K@4.4GHz
I7 4770K
Might go Intel 6 cores end of the year (5930K)

mobile radeon 9600 -> 8800gtx -> gtx260 -> gtx260 sli -> gtx470

I didn't like multigpu, single 470 was miles better. I'll probably upgrade when stuff doesn't run right on lower details, but with the xbox one being such a slowpoke that could take a while.

512K VGA on a 386SX
ATI Xpert@Work 8MB on a PII 350
Voodoo 1 4MB
Riva TNT2 Mach64 16MB
Voodoo II 8MB
Geforce 3 64MB on an AMD Thunderbird 1400
Geforce FX 5700 256MB on an AMD XP2400+
Geforce 6600GT 128MB on above chip, then AMD64x2 5600
9800GTX+ on above chip
9800GTX+ x2 in SLI on above chip, then upgraded to i5-750.
560TI
670
780 due to Ultrawide upgrade.

Ever since I experienced PhysX in the Batman games I decided I wouldn't want to play them without, hence why I've chosen Nvidia cards since then. Wish I'd had bought a 9800 instead of the FX 5700, or even the FX 5950 that came out 2 weeks later

I figured the OP meant your upgrade path for your current card....not every card you have ever owned. I cannot even remember all the different cards I've had. But the first discrete card I bought was a voodoo 2 PCI. Still have the card and box.
