I just got my TechNet copy of Windows 8 yesterday and have it on a couple of Virtual Machines and one laptop.
Do far, I don't hate the UI as much as I thought I would though that's faint praise. Mostly the UI formerly known as metro gets in my way and adds a couple of mouse clicks to a lot of things I do - but I guess I can live with it. I am quite impressed with how fast it is though running on a 6 year old laptop with 2.0 Ghz core 2 Duo and 3 GB RAM.
Mostly I'm currently testing to see what applications we need at work that will not work. Unfortunately I've already got two that are deal breakers if I can't get them to work.Lets start a list of what doesn't work for business users. Here are the first two items:
1. Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 (the corporate version of Symantec antivirus)
2. Cisco VPN client. From the entries in the logs I'm seeing messages that say that the VPN client it not compatible and I need to use Cisco Anyconnect - which of course means changes to our firewall that I will have to fight our network admin/security guy over.
