What kind of cable do you use to connect your video card to your monitor?

Displyport at work. Just a laptop at home, so no cables.

I used to use DVI, but I've switched pretty-much exclusively to HDMI. Compact, easy-to-handle cable, and they're cheap enough, that if one fails, just grab another one out of the stash and trash that one.

I'm surprised about the HDMI and Displayport even split. Would have thought one or the other would have been significantly more popular. DVI is relatively ancient so makes sense.

My choice of cables is decided by my cats. Since they just effing LOVE to bite exactly those types of wires (for whatever reason), I chose the thickest with metal shielding which happens to be an old DVI <--> HDMI. She' still biting through it or at least tries it. I protected them all with nylon cable wrappers now. Otherwise, I don't "see" any difference between using this cable or the cheap, thin HDMI <--> HDMI I bought from ebay, maybe at higher resolutions. At 1080p I dont think shielding etc. matters.

that and you don't have to screw either one in. As well as having those posts back out when you need to remove the cable for some reason. Which can be a massive PITA.

What I like about DisplayPort is that it is still a semi-locking connection, but unlike DVI, you don't need to worry about the annoying little screws.

Fixed that for me!

I use DP to MiniDP, my 4k 60hz monitor will only work at full res with 60hz across that connector, the others are too slow.
