what kind of canadian boots are the best?

one of my teachers told me today that canadian boots are the best for snow and generally the winter. does anyone know anything about the best kinds/styles for men? also where i could get them?

Any hiking boots would be okay for light walk in the snow, and you must use oil/wax to keep your feet dry. For prolong period in the snow it is best to use rubber boots with felt insulation & insulation socks, or duckies with insulation. For icy side walk you could try those gimmicky chain for your shoes, or use track shoes with spikes or cork boots.

I was under the impression that Sorel was the gold standard for boots.

That's all we wore growing up in MI winters. They weren't nearly as cool as moon boots, but they're seriously warm and durable.

I've pretty much always had Baffin boots... not too expensive and they are pretty good. Kodiak makes good stuff too. I'm Canadian.

Those are like the best boots EVAR. They look kind of gay on the pic, but when the fur is all black, they look really nice. Unless you go to the North Pole, it's almost impossible to get cold feet in those. Sorry but the site doesn't seem to have an english section.

When I was a kid, though, I used to have a pair of these boots that had an imprint of a little Inuit boy on the sole. They were brown and they rawked. Getting boots was this great big anual event for us...*sigh* the good times.
