I've got a chair like that at work. Don't know how much it cost, but I sure it was few dollars, probably not 4k though.

That aint mine but I wish. I sat in one at a funiture show in SF and ass never felt so nice. Seriosuly Kittinger type chairs may be gaudy but comfort is unmatched.

I sit in a $199 office depot sale chair at my gamming rig and some governemnt issue non-reclining 75 lbs steal/vynil covered crap at office.

IMHO these are the best style of chairs. If you have never sat in one I would recommend it.

I have one of those too. If I wanted torture I'd just sit on the floor.

geezes... $1000 on a CHAIR!?!? and you stick it in a room like THAT? Those posture/funky chairs suck... one set adjustment. I had one for a while, it got very tiring if you actually had to sit and code for a long time

Thinking of making a desk like one of theirs next year.

You got all the tools? Those run anywhere from 12-20K... real wood, hand crafted, old school funiture like that is very expensive. I'm guesstimating just 2K in wood.

I have just about everything. I am hunting for a few hand tools, but otherwise I am set. As far as wood, it can be had locally for a good bit less. I can purchase mahogany boards 16 inch wide x 10 feet long and 4 inches thick if I need them. Believe me I do not. That is a LOT more wood than I would want to handle, but my supplier is that good.

Cool digs. I'm going to have to send you some pics of things I build. I have about 2500 sqft of shop space...two table saws..planners the whole shabang. Most of it I inherited before taking the hobby up.

Hey I do have pics still on my network of the crown molding and base board I just put in our house...

Not bad! Crown molding is one of those things that seems so simple, and it it is, but to do right can be the devil.

Hell son, with a shop like you describe, why arent YOU building something

Looks like this

It makes my ass hurt, if I don't get up every 30 - 45 minutes. I thought KVM over IP was a great idea, until I started to get stiff knees and a sore butt.

They make non shrink plastic sections ($4 a linear foot, read expensive compared to straights) which are maleable.

I'm 6'2 and a lot of chairs go under my shoulder blades which makes for a very uncomfortable experience.

that's the lamest excuse for buying a chair...

i'm 6'2" and I find almost any < $100 chair perfectly comfortable...you must have a weird bone/body structure.

I'm sitting on a 60's (or 50's) style wood and (slightly) padded vinyl kitchen chair. Twenty five years ago I was helping a friend move, she was throwing out the chair because it was too ugly and I snagged it. At the time she was a broke student, so you can imagine what it looks like.

My wife and family hate it and have threatened/offered to buy me a new one forever, but I'll never do it. I can sit in this chair 12 hours a day and not have any aches. Ever hurt your back and sit in a soft chair? That makes it worse.

Keep your $1,000 snazzy chair-this one's better.
