What kind of dog is this...UPDATE from 1 year ago. Aged pics included

Almost a year ago, I posted some pics of my new dog asking what you all thought it was. Since I had mixed stories. We were told it was a Pit Bull, some said it had Pit features, but wasnt.

Now that it is a year later, I am posting a few pics. Some pics that I posted a year ago, and some pics of it today.

Pics were takin with a crap cell phone. Please excuse the bad quality on them.

So what kind of dog is it ?

I think he might be part Holstein.

It was hard to capture is muscles. But let me tell you, he is packed with a hell of a lot of muscle. SOLID hips and shoulders that ripple.

Terrier mix most likely, looks similar to a dogo argentino except they are all white.

It's an American pit. It's very similar to mine which is also white with black.

My Dawg "his name" doesn't have red on his nose.

And he also has black under his eyes. Well on his eye lids. Looks like football black or makeup.

like i said it's a terrier mix, what kind though? i doubt anyone will be able to tell you by pictures alone.

It's probably part red nose even though it doesn't have a red nose itself. The father of my dog was a red nose and a buddy of mine has 3 white pits similar to yours, all of which have red nose pits as either the father or mother.

Ill see if I can get a few pics of his "brawn" here shortly. His legs are "massive" and rippled.

Doesn't show in the pics though. Maybe it will help some. If all else fails, ill just take him to the vet to find out. That is if they would know.

Are you suggesting that your dog hasn't been to the vet at all in the past year, or you just haven't asked on past visits? Keep up on his shots. Take care of 'em when they're young if you want them to grow old.

it doesn't matter. they will just classify it a terrier mix. that's what they do with practically every dog in the united states that's over 60lbs and is of uncertain breed. my dog was a brown pincher and chocolate lab mix, he got picked up a few times and they classified him as a terrier mix as did a vet we took him too.

OP. Do you want to refuse to believe it's a pit? Because that's exactly what it is. If it's the stigma of having a pit that you're worried about just do what my wife and I do. When people ask what kind of dog she is we just tell them it's a Dalmation mix. What they don't know won't hurt them.

LOL...Good idea. But know, I dont have to "know" he is a Pit, just to have a Pit so to speak. Some people tell me he is, like the ones that gave him to us, but some like my sister "Ms. Knowitall" says it isn't a Pit. Just looking for confirmation.

But you know, I might actually use the Dalmation mix. lol....I like that...

Shit, I bet Dawg is more gental than a stuffed animal. He is just so lovable, a brute though. He pushed me outta bed one night when he jumped up, layed down, and decided to stretch. His feet pushed me on the floor. Wife found it amusing though...

I see all the time, Pits are bad...they are mean, killers, bad around kids......shows about it.

I say BS.....I think its how they are raised myself and probably abused, and trained to fight. Since I have had Dawg since he was 1/2 months old and he is as gentle as a one week old kitten.

he is a "pit bull" a lot of terrier breeds are considered "pit bulls". just call him a pit or a terrier mix and be done with it. honestly that's what he is.

He looks exactly like this one, but Dawg's face isnt as "smooshed" But the muscle is almost identical.

When raised properly pits are absolutely the best and don't let anyone tell you differently. You won't find a more loving, loyal, and intelligent dog. Unfortunately, stupid dog owners that don't know what they're doing give pits a bad rep.
