Personally I like the bitterness, and it's got something else most people don't realize: meatiness. There's some kind of sulphur compound in there, I just can't identify what it is.

If you want apples, strawberries and watermelon you'll get kiwi, guava and grapes while a person that wants cherries, pineapple and peaches will get cantaloupe, honeydew and pear. FRESH grapefruit (picked directly from the tree when it is fresh, not weeks/months before and then "ripened" in a box on the way to the store) is fantastic. The bitter, nasty, half-ripened stuff you get in most grocery store produce departments is an abomination..
