Currently I'm a live in caregiver for a relative; basically a nurse without the pay. I also have a small senior-centric tech business, where I setup phones to TV's, and build/fix PC's. This could become full time with all the word of mouth advertising I've been getting - old people are wary of just calling someone, especially for something small like hooking up their TV. Probably helps I charge next to nothing compared to something like Geek Squad.

Before that, I was a QA lead at a major medical claims software company, and a programmer working on in-house software suites and a bit of COBOL on the side.

Think I'll either try to work out that tech business, get a nursing degree, or even try my hand at writing.

Right now I am a territory sales manager responsible for a good portion of the north east. However by years end I am seriously debating on taking a offer I have to become the senior projects manager for one of the largest up-state NY contracting firms.

What that actually means in real world terms is that I take potential and current clients to meals to discuss service and opportunity, set goals with regards to budget and projections, and travel a good bit for 'trainings' and such. All the while keeping close tabs on service points and distribution facilities.

Chef - I currently feed folks at an Air Force Base and try to convince them that vegetables are not the enemy. Although, I'm pretty sure recruiters fill their quotas by promising newbs they'll never have to eat vegetables again. I have had pretty good success in getting them to eat homemade soups though and I've introduced a major ethnic foods menu two times a week.

Hehe. I used to do similar job like yours (unloader) as a part timer at night shift. The pay was good but the job was tough, fast and furious. Even harder in the freaking hot summer in the South. I like the driver helper job during the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday much better.

Yes, these exist. I was actually quite surprised how laxed people were in these IM chats at work.


Actually, during my internship this summer, there was an intern that was a complete thunder wise and beautiful woman and nobody liked her. The entire summer there were numerous chats from different people talking about how horrible she was. One day, someone accidentally pinged her some of the messages.

....that was an awkward day.

My company uses digital guardian. Everything we do, chat, email, any correspondence is logged and recorded. Certain sites are blocked. People have been fired for typing curse words in emails or chat, or talking about others.
