The Toshiba deals are typically offered on a somewhat regular basis for varying amounts. Should be a new inexpensive notebook deal posted tomorrow in the ATHD forum.
For most of the tasks listed above (web browsing, email, office productivity, etc), even lower end notebooks perform quite well. The trade-off your cousin may have to accept if purchasing a notebook at that price point would be the graphic capability.Originally posted by: arsbanned
Um, no, you won't find comparable laptop performance for 700 bones. Laptop performance is generally pretty dismal at that price point, especially when someone is used to desktop performance. Even expensive laptops seem slow, at least to me. There's a tradeoff for that portability.
