ponyo does nothing but cook
Not true. I also sleep, eat, browse internet, repeat. I enjoy food. And I have lot of free time.

My wife is great chef! My wife and I love food so we cook and eat together.

There's this Korean restaurant called Jang Su Jang in Atlanta that makes really great seafood pancake. Their pancake is super thick. Super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Because of this stupid coronavirus, I haven't eaten there in like a year.

That's from a year ago when I last ate there. Probably my favorite Korean restaurant in Atlanta.

Today I'm smoking spare ribs in my easy bake oven (pellet smoker) at 250 F.

EDIT: Done. Super good. I love pellet smoked ribs. It has such nice mild and pleasant smoked flavor compared to ribs smoked on charcoal smokers.

That looks perfect. With the crust on the bottom too. I really fail to understand how we don't have more stuffed pies in America besides Chicken Pot Pie. Did we reject the deliciousness of savory stuffed pies from our former colonial overlords out of spite? Terrible idea.

I know there are some good joints in the city that have British style savory pies and other food goods. Definitely will have to make those a stop on a bike ride soon. Plus I need to venture back to A Salt and Battery, a good fish and chips shop in the city. They do deep fried Lion and Mars bars too.

Are savory meat pies not a US thing then? I'm surprised by that tbh.

Not really. Chicken Pot Pie is a classic American comfort food and delicious. That's mostly it for savory pies.

For meat stuffed in pastry you usually gotta go on the Latino tip and get empanadas or Caribbean Jamaican beef patties like you mentioned above or similar stuff.

Found this place close to where I land most often in the city, can't wait to go now. They all sound so good: http://www.myersofkeswick.com/products/fresh-goods/pies/

I love good meat pie. But it's definitely not common and hard to find good ones in the US. I love good empanadas. There's this Argentinian steakhouse in Cancun I always eat at when I visit. I go there just to eat empanadas and Caesar salad and not the steaks. In fact, their steaks are actually pretty terrible but their empanadas and table side Caesar salad are the best I've had.

We have those here in Canada. You can buy them frozen in mild or hot. I like them but don't have them often.

I saw a great recipe for them on Youtube:

In Canada, meat pies are pretty common. In Quebec there is tourtiere - a traditional pork pie.

I love me a good savoury meat pie but no organ meat for me.

I have a store about 2km from me. I don't bother to buy frozen, I just pop in and grab a few when the craving hits.
