breakfast

yogurt fruit bowl and bread made with Trader Joe's Hawaiian Mochi Cake Mix.

First time trying TJ's mochi cake mix and I highly recommend it to make quick and easy mochi bread. It is little too sweet but the coconut taste is nice touch. This is what the box looks like. Picture from Reddit via Google image search

Everything looks delicious however I think it's possible you're trying a bit too hard.

It looks like it's going to rain all day so I want to eat something that will warm me up. Decided to make beef short ribs soup. But since beef short rib prices are stupid right now, I'm using chuck roast instead. More than 2x cheaper while tasting 99% the same.

Soaking the beef chuck roast chunks in water to drain the blood. ProTip: If you want to speed up the blood draining process, you can add little sugar or something like Coke or Sprite to the water.

rice cake soup. Made with leftover beef chuck roast soup from yesterday. Added sliced rice cakes, beef dumplings, kimchi dumplings, and eggs. Might be contender for the best soup in the world. Insanely good.

plan was to make chicken burrito.

but I'm not very good at making burrito and placed too much food on the tortilla to wrap. So I ended up eating it as giant taco. I don't think Chipotle would hire me.

butter garlic roasted squid. Beer would've been awesome but I quit alcohol last year. So sparkling mineral water green tea instead of beer.

I make this with different veggies depending on what's in season .... not exactly healthy but really good!

(tomato sauce for pasta can be delicious with roasted bacon too)

I normally make fried rice with leftovers. Fried bacon was leftover from previous meal, and I always have some sort of cooked rice 24/7. I've been eating lot of jasmine rice lately and that's now my preferred rice and makes great fried rice.

breakfast

Dahi Indian yogurt. It's my first time trying Indian yogurt. It's thicker and more sour than typical US yogurt. I like it and will be buying more.

lunch

gimbap and instant cup noodles

also finished cooking first batch of beef bone broth. I'll strain the fat and combine the 1st batch with 2nd and 3rd cooked batches to make one uniform batch of bone broth.

refilling the water for the 2nd batch. I'm using beef knuckle marrow bones to make beef bone broth.

It usually takes about 3 or 4 cooked liquid batches to fully exhaust and use up the bone marrows. Complete cooking process takes about 24 hours. It's a long process and total labor of love. But the end product is so worth it and serves as liquid base for many of my soups. So it's essential I make this. Store bought factory broths can't compare and beef broth made from instant pot is crap. Broth made with instant pot lacks the rich beef flavor and depth. I tried shortcuts and nothing beats the traditional stovetop way of slow cooking when it comes to taste.
