Nice hot bowl of udon noodles for breakfast. The anchovy broth is so warm and satisfying. The thick noodles and fish cakes are just gravy. It's 25 F outside right now but my house is nice and warm 70 F. I feel 10 degrees warmer after eating the noodles and drinking the hot broth.

A lot of brown rice and beans. One salad every day. A bagel + carmelized onions for breakfast. A fabulous stew I make with my homegrown winter squash (kabocha) and many vegetables, barley and split peas. Mixed roasted nuts (my own mix). Coffee.

Edit: Oh, and fresh fruit... Organic Fuji apples, navel oranges, bananas... daily.

Took nice long afternoon nap so I didn't feel like cooking anything new for dinner. So reheated some fried pork cutlet I made like last week. Quickly made egg drop soup and steamed some octopus.

Thanks! Yeah it came out real nice. I haven't typically done a lot briskets that but we recently re-joined Costco and it's hard to pass up their prices on the prime packers.

Also last time I reserved some of the trimmings to run through my meat grinder, and it was so good it gave me the confidence to be a little more aggressive in my trimming this time.
