I'm looking to buy a sound card for my PC (using integrated now), but I'm not sure what will be good enough and what will be overkill.
The main reason I want a sound card is to get rid of that annoying high-pitched noise in my headphones. Whenever the windows volume is above 40% or so, it becomes very noticeable (it's not just feedback, it's like when the TV is turned on but the volume's all the way down), so I tried it on my friend's PC who has a SB Audigy 2 and it sounded fine.
What quality sound card would I need to knock out the noise? I'd get an Audigy 2 if they weren't quite so expensive.
Thanks for any help
