Fun watches...Seiko Anniversary Mickey Mouse, Swatch skeleton, Citizen moon face

Nicer watches...old Bulova Space View, even older Bulova 14K tank-style (so old, you wind it--from the '20's), some old Elgins (again, windups and from the '40's-'50's), couple of old railroad pocket watches (using these is about as easy as using a phone for a watch, meaning you have to dig it out before you can look....unless you're one of those with his/her nose stuck in the phone all the time--oblivious to the world around them.)

anti-watch voice or not, a watch is part of being properly dressed.

Chances are most of these cell phone only types won't amount to much in their lives.

I wouldn't go quite as far to say they won't amount to much, but you are correct in that it is part of being properly dressed.

Also the older generations notice watches. As someone in their early 20s in a professional environment a watch is an important accessory, it adds a level of class and seriousness to you that pulling a smartphone out of your pocket doesn't.

From an engineering and craftsmanship perspective watches are incredible. Especially the ones with additional features. I just like the fact of wearing/owning such an impressive piece of craftsmanship and engineering.
