What kinds of *moments* make it most worthwhile to live?

It has to be an instant in time, not some abstract concept.

For me:

-- When I'm learning a new skill and I experience a sudden improvement or breakthrough; I can now do something I couldn't do a minute ago

-- When a girl I'm attracted to (girlfriend or otherwise) shows me love and attention by touching me or giving me a kiss

-- When I'm really hungry/cold and I finally get some warm and filling food

-- When I'm really tired/exhausted and I finally get to just lay in bed and rest

-- When I get recognized or complimented for something I consider important

Hey, some of them are vain, but that's the truth. =)

When I experience a time (could be a second or it could be an hour) when I KNOW that my husband and i are together and are meant to be right where we are when we are there.

For example, this saturday, on a spur of the moment, we decided to go out to dinner. We knew the wait would be forever, so we sat at the bar and talked and had a drink. we connected just because we were both happy and relaxed.

When i experience something familiar that makes my heart swell with joy and comfort.

Everyone knows we love Hawai'i but every time i get off the plane when we land at the airport, and i smell the air, my eyes well up with joyful tears.

When I take a hot hot bath in the evening and have the window in the bathroom open just a crack and its raining outside. After i get out of the bath tub, i nose up to the window and breathe a deep breath of fresh air.

Little times like those make me happy and thankful to be alive.

Watching my kids grow up, but I may have a different answer when they are teenagers.

when either of my kids say "I love you dad" out of the blue. (not after I buy them something). The other day my daughter (3 yrs) climbs on my chair, hugs my arm, kisses me on the cheek and said "I love you daddy". Kind of makes me regret getting angry for petty reasons.

Seeing the look on my sons face when getting a big hit or making a double play in little league.

It is even better when it is against someone who's father is living through their kid and thinks they are better than everyone else

Getting in my bed after a long day. And on the weekends, waking up, seeing the time, thinking "fvck that", and going back to sleep.

I love that as well. Very crisp, cold night where all of the stars are out. Makes you feel a bit more alive.
