What language is "Nulla in mundo pax sincera" ?

It's from one of my favorite pieces by Vivaldi, but I can't for the life of me get it accurately translated. It almost seems as though it's Italian and Latin, but I'm just not sure.

Looks like a mix of Italian and Latin but since Italian developed out of Latin it could be the Italian of Vivaldi's time. IMHO it means "Nowhere in the world there's real peace" but it's been some time since school and my Italian is a bit rusty. /showing off

nullus : not any, no, none.
mundus : world, universe.
pax : peace.
sincerus : genuine.

So perhaps -

"Nothing in this genuinly peacful world" ?
"Nothing in the world is genuinly at peace"?

Hmmmmm.... its been way to long since I studied Latin, so I'm too rusty to be sure!

Nope sincera belongs to pax and Nulla too and the only female noun in this sentence is pax. Your second translation isn't possible either because the adverb for genuinely is missing.

NickdaKick - yep, its the genders, declentions... etc that I knew I'd lost from high school. I think your translation earlier is the most likely.

Still - is it Italian? If so, then Italian matches its originating latin closer than I thought! Neat...

If you appreciate classical, you really should have a listen, it's incredible. If you can get the Shine soundtrack, one of the best sopranos I've heard in a while sings it.

That's my theory like in some remote valleys of the Alps where there exist ancient dialects of German and Latin.
And no I don't mean Switzerland I mean really remote valleys.
