What Linux to install on 815e mobo? I have RH 7.0, MD 7.1 Should I wait for Suse 8.0 or MD 8.0?

Read a lot about the problems with RH 7.0.
I have Mandrake 7.1 but I understand 7.2 is an improvement and easier to install.
And now 8.0 with the 2.4 kernal is available.

As a newbe to Linux, I antacipate problems with my 815e mobo, integrated video and audio, KCNR ethernet/modem card, and thinking that the latest distro might be less trouble.

Anyone installed with the Intel 815e chipset mobo?

(sidenote: Kingston's new KCNR card works great in the CNR slot. I get consistent 45-46kb/s compared to 33-42kb/s speed on the net with Lucent K56 winmodem).
$44 for ethernet/modem combo.

wait for mandrake 8.0 FINAL...dont install the beta. It should be out in around 1 month and it should work perfect with your mb

I installed RH7 on a i815 using the built in video/audio. However I had a 3Com PCI NIC.

Did you have to search for special drivers to complete the install or did RH have everthing in the package?

I've had problems with the Mandrake 8.0 Beta distro on older hardware. Intel VS440 mobo with PPro 200, Matrox Mystique PCI video card, 3Com NIC. Has some bugs still. With me, the OS ceases to function whenever I exit from Hardrake. On the other hand, 7.2 is rock solid.

Personally, I agree with bakiller and wait until 8.0 Final distro comes out.

I am taking my first stab at Linux in a long time so I downloaded Mandrake 7.2 and I have to say that it was as easy or easier than win9x to install. So far its been good for me.
