What makes a drink a girly drink.

Why is a lemon drop a girly drink, but a Vodka tonic isn't? They both have vodka, so what gives. I like to order a lemon drop when I go out , but people make it seem like it is some pussy drink.

I always considered "girly drinks" low alcohol level and fruity. lemon drops aren't girly...but wine coolers are. make sense?

Hard liquor straight up is considered more manly.

Sweet, sugary, and fruity drinks are more for people who can't handle the taste of alcohol. Most women I know don't really like alcohol, because they would never drink liquor straight or neat, but they will sip on a sugary or sweet drink.

Less girly
Straight liquor
Liquor w/some dilutor
Liquor w/some sweet dilutor
Liquor w/some sweet, fruit-flavored dilutor
Liquor w/some sweet, fruit-flavored dilutor and actual fruit or an umbrella
More girly

When I drink (which is pretty rare nowadays), its usually a vodka sour. I never understood why they are considered girly and I don't really care.

I'll order my blue hawaiians, mai tais, mojitos and be damned what anyone around me says. I'll mix that with sake, beers, shots as a group drink, but when I'm just sipping, I like the sweet stuff.

Screw whoever says anytyhing, drink what you want and have a good time.

Less girly
Straight liquor
Liquor w/some dilutor
Liquor w/some sweet dilutor
Liquor w/some sweet, fruit-flavored dilutor
More girly

Wine may or may not be girly, but usually has it's own "snob" quality to it.

When I say lemon drop I mean the mixed drink. 1 shot of vodka, 1/2 oz of lemon juice, and bunch of sugar.

Why are they considered girly? well... girls like to drink them. The only mixed drink I have is a long island and most of the girls I know wont touch it. Otherwise I drink beer, again very few women drink beer.

Gimlets are great.

One might consider lemondrops girly because of the chaser that's associated with it. lemon and sugar... Just like shooting tequila with "training wheels" may be considered to be weak as well.

also women are typically "weak" in strength, and fruity drinks are typicall weak drinks.
