I know some ram is built to higher tolerances, thus the range of speeds, but what about compatibility? Why the rash of incompatible ram again after a while? Ram made by reputable manufacturers such as Crucial, Kingston and TwinMos is failing to run in motherboards made by reputable manufacturers such as Abit, Asus and Epox. Since the interfaces are identical and the chip configuration is the same, what are the underlying differences in ram that make them incompatible?
