What makes the MSI KT7 so good?

Okay this is my first post so please be gentle.

My question is basically what makes the MSI KT7 rank so high with most of you guys over say the Abit and Asus competitors for MB of choice running AMD processors? I have been leaning heavily toward the ASUS A7V for sometime now, before I came here and started seeing alot of people vouching for the MSI board. Just wondering if I missed something or not. Anyway, any info / insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well I`ve a MSI K7T PRO board,used to have a Abit,anyway rock stable the best board I have ever owned which says alot being it`s my first Via chipset based board.

Very high quality parts used,low RMA rate,great Bios update support,easy setup less hassle then other brands in general,& the MSI K7T PRO2A version is probably the best overclocker SocketA wise.

Okay got another question for you guys... while you are explaining to me why the MSI MB is better than the the others, could you tell me whether any or all of the MB's will run ok with Kinston Value Ram. Specifically the (128MB 16x64 PC-100 DIMM) being sold at outpost.com for $49.95

The asus A7V seems to have some issues that will probally get rsolved.My son inlaw had problems with the usb on his first one wich he rma and his new one is unstable.He got a KT7 PRO2A and is real happy with it.Also hes been building systems for alot of years so he knows what hes doing.Ive built systems with all 3 models of the msi withot any problems at all.By far the most stable.Im curently running a abit kt7 but it took two to get a good one.

I've used both Kingston Value PC133 and Corsair Value PC133, and both work just fine in the A7V and the Abit kT7. I'd recommend buying pc133, so you can take advantage of the higher mem. speeds, and they only cost 5-10 dollars more than pc100 parts.

Can you mix PC133 and PC100. I currenly have a single Kingston 256mb of PC100.
Would it work if I added a Kingston PC133 stick? Thanks....

PC133 and PC100 mostly has to do with the speed the chips are rated at, as in 100MHz or 133MHz, respectively (except pcb, trace and other minor standards). Ram is backwards compatible, so you can run 100 and 133 with pc66, even, if you wanted to. The only issue is that your total ram will never be capable of speed exceeding it's slowest module. Go ahead and mix them, you'll be fine.

Okay, on the subject of memory to run on the MSI KT7 motherboard. Is PC150 that much better than PC133 (read worth the extra $$$) and will it run on the KT7?
