what memory to get? Kingmax or crucial? 1.6a p4s333 setup

Im using 2 sticks of Crucial 256mb CL2.5 DDR on my P4S333..I was running it at 16x144fsb with DDR at 1:1 ratio with 2.5v and fast settings..then I changed it the other night to 16x141fsb with DDR at 4:5 ratio, default settings but at 2.7v..still rock solid and I gained about 600 points on the SiSoft memory tests

I've got a sis645 (gigabyte GA-8SRX) with the MEM clock at 172Mhz using 2 256MB Crucial PC2100 sticks. Pretty amazing ram. MEM scores freakin rock at that speed. I had the MEM from a previous system so it wasn't worth it to me to go get PC2700 just to get out 28 more Mhz. hehe

I got the Samsung 5ns DDR333 CAS 2.5 from upgradenation.com ...seems to work at 166x2 fine...havent bothered to go higher since i'd have to switch to non spec pci/agp speeds then...

I am currently running 2 - 256 MB sticks of Crucial 2100 w/ECC at default values (cas2.5) and it is running just fine at 177 MHz. I just had to add more juice to get it flowing nice and fast. I also have a stick of Corsair XMS 2400 and it runs at cas2 and the Crucial still outperforms it in Sandra and also when I encode video's. I don't see how that is possible, but I guess the crucial is just damn good RAM. Anyways, I might be getting some more RAM to see if I can get up to 185+. I was thinking either Samsung or Kingmax, haven't decided yet.

Just a note both Newegg and Mwave now have Corsair PC2700 in 512 MB sticks...about $200 a plop so don't splurge.

Just bought 2 sticks of the 512Mb Corsair PC2700 from Mwave. Ran Memtest 86 looped for 11 hrs @ 340Mhz, CAS2, 2.5V, everything went fine, no errors, Prime 95 for 20hrs OK too.

Had 2 sticks of 512Mb Crucial (with Infineon chips) that would only do 311Mhz stable in Memtest86 @ CAS2.5, 2.7V.

Had 2x 256Mb sticks of Kingmax PC2700 5ns that wouldn't run Memtest 86 stable at any speed (only went as low as 250Mhz), any timings or voltages.

I have a 256 MB stick of Kingmax PC2700 running at 180 MHz CAS 2 @ 2.8 volts. It can do higher but my chip gets maxxed out at 1450 MHz so I am limited.

EDIT: I got it from googlegear for $94. It's the -05 stuff.

Anyone tried Mushkin's enhanced RAM yet? they are supposed to be better with all those enhancements they make to the PCB, sinks, etc. Rated 6ns at 333mhz

I got lucky with my crucial I guess, it runs fine at 176 (132fsb @ 3:4 CPU/Memory timing). Zero errors on Memtest.

Isn't it true that OCZ rams are just overclocked ram and not actual rams at the speed they sell it for? I heard bad stuff about those rams, that is why they are cheap compare to everyone else.

im using the kingmax pc2700 -5ns cas2.5 right now running at 171/342ddr. it crapped out at 191/382ddr on default voltage which isnt too bad.

i just order some corsair pc2700 that claims cas2 but i have no idea what their ns rating is.
ill post my corsair vs kingmax results asap.

Go with Samsung true pc2700. I run a stick of this in my P4S333 @ 220. P4 1.8A @ 2376 and mem @ 2*220. Sisoft Sandra giives me 2957/2968.
