I hear so many conflicting reports both here at work (techsupport center for pc product) and on various msg boards.

I plan to use the following
Thunderbird 1 gig
micron pc133 256 meg
creative labs anniolator (gforce 256) with 32 meg ddr
generic sound card
linsys 10/100 nic
w/d 7200 20 gig hard drive
sony spressa burner 10/2/32
generic dvd
att@home isp (cable modem connected via the linksys)

I plan to run the board with a true 133 fsb and 7.5 multiplier so the chip will run a tad slower than it is rated for.

After I settle on the board for sure that I want, then I gotta figure what is the best case to use for my needs. Case questions are leaning towards will the abit board fit well? will there be good airflow in this case?

any help be appreciated.

I'd go with Asus cause I am a die-hard Asus fan mainly.
*IF* I was to pick between those 2. If i could choose out of any I'd look into the Microstar AMD boards or maybe even a Soyo because I've had good results with Soyo as well.

For a case, Look into Addtronics

www.addtronics.com

take a look at the 6896A.. well built and good features and size (good airflow)

ciao!

A7V133, the Abit has nothing over it. With the new BIOS the Asus got a nice memory performance boost. It was already close to the Abit in memory performance now its as good or better. Unless you need ISA which the Asus does not have.

Go with ASUS or MSI these are the top two board brands IMHO.

I Just upgraded from an A7V to a kt7a-raid... Been impressed with both, but the asus did seem more stable, But the abit has a hell of alot more features. I have also built severail systems for others, & the MSI boards (k7t pro2) have been my faveorites for builds cause they seem to go togeather a lot easier, But not as good for the OCers as the Abit or ASUS.
Just for comparison my TB 900 would never go more than a few mhz past 1 gig in the a7v, & in this abit I was easily able to get it to 1100 (122x9)
