What monitor do you use for your Xbox 360?

I am researching which display will give the best possible image quality output for the 360. I have been looking around and i cant seem to find any decent answers. I have seen my friend run his 20" LG wide screen LCD on his xbox and the picture is fuzzy. My friends 26" HD TV looks much better but there is still some noticeable blurring when sat closer.

Anyway i have noticed the 19" wide screen monitors resolution (1440x960) is closer to 720p. If anyone here has one can you post your opinion on it and what resolution you choose on the 360 menu. Pics would be nice too .

So you have seen it hooked up by component and with the VGA adapter and it isn't a sharp image? on what? The 360 console? in game? which game? which res?

I have used mine with a 12x10 LCD and VGA adapter, 36" SDTV with composite, and 57" CRT RP HDTV with component, and GoW looks great@720p or 1080i, but blurry is a fair discription, comparatively speaking, on the SD setup, though "not as crisp" may be a more accurate descritpion ime.

SD is not great for the XBOX as it must downsize the video and that makes some text unreadable.

I played it on a LCD PC Monitor, not great, because it's so small, unless you sit close to it. So it was alright when I used my main LCD (I use two LCDs on my PC) and just switched between my PC and my XBOX 360 as I'd end up sitting close like if I was using my computer.

Playing it on my 46" (720p) DLP HDTV is by far my favorite. Simply the ability to sit back and ENJOY the experience is much nicer than having to sit close, or attempt to read text off of a screen.

That is hook right there. Being in the big comfy chair, with the wireless controller, feet up, drink at hand, playing on a 57" HDTV, it is indeed a highly enjoyable gaming experience.

I've only got CRTs over here. I've had my Dell P1130 (21") for about a year now, and it's been a great monitor all around, and will even do 1080p via VGA for the 360. Just recently got a 30" widescreen (Philips 30PW8420). The 30" only goes up to 1080i (CRT!), but it's still a great picture - especially since 360 content is made in 16:9, the OAR of my television. Either monitor is great, especially for how cheap they are!

Its the LCD monitor that makes it look sh1t. He sets the 360 to 1080p in the options, its the best looking one out of the lot which we tested. He is using the VGA cable on this 20" monitor. The monitor may be poor at scaling resolutions other than the native.

My main interest is opinions from people who run the 360 on a 19" TFT wide screen monitor.

Well to answer your question you'll never see the sharp and clear textures of a PC with ANY console.. Try using a HDTV as advised...

I have mine in my 20'' 2001FP and I use it @1280x1024 with bars when I'm gaming since it's 4:3.. NOT a good experience I'm waiting for my new 1080p LCD TV

A great TV. I don't think there is anything out there at 34" inches that is better. Almost bought it.

Anyone try the 360 on a 40 inch Sony Crt HdTV. The one I have has 480 i ,480p , 720p,1080i with 1 DVI port. Do you think it will be sweet?

Edit : Does it matter that it's not widescreen?

lol thats a huge CRT , You could run Xbox360 @ 1080i and im sure it will look great, the only thing is you'll have black bars on top and bottom like when watching a DVD movie. But with a TV that size you'll stil have a 37" viewing area with 16:9 material.
