Hey, I have recently gotten help picking out my pc parts (
here) but with the 7850 as my video card.
Now all I need to do is get my monitor. This one I found(
here) is very cheap and seems to be good. I want to know your opinions on it and any suggestions for getting a better one for under 200$
Basically the entire value line from asus is good for gaming.
However, they are not without their problems. There is No solid pixel guarantee on these budget panels, which means you'll almost certainly get a few dead pixels.
Since computer monitors are not something people buy all the time, maybe once every 5-8 years,
I highly recommend you spend a little bit more on the issue.
I recommend the HP-ZR24w. on sale they can be had for around $350.
Main advantage of IPS monitor, 110% color reproduction of adobe RGB color space. This means very good and accurate color reproduction.
Higher Contrast ratio, better at displaying "color gradients" smooth color transitions.
Advantage of this specific ZR24w, very good for gaming, as it does NOT have an internal scaler chip.
Which means it's like raw, no condom sex, between the graphics card and the monitor. this means very low input lag and response, for gaming,
BEST of all, HP will replace the ZR24w even if you only have 1 dead pixel, you'll have to bitch and whine a little, but they'll do it almost 100% of the time.
With low end tn-panels such as asus, proscan, etc, they'll just give you a big Fvck you, and ur stuck with an imperfect panel. D:
