What motherboard do you recommend?

I want to upgrade to an AMD XP 1900 OR 1800........

There seems to be a lot of differnt mobo's out there people are using. What one do you use or would you recommend to a newbie?

Im running an A7V now with and AMD 800

I love my new Shuttle AK31A. Great price and great performance. Can't go wrong IMO.

I have the A7V too, if you like it's stability and overall quality, then pay a little more for the Asus A7V266-E (around $160). Otherwise, get the Epox ($105) or Shuttle ($80)

I got to vote for my Epox 8KHA+ which I installed lastnight one great stable and easy to setup board .

I just set up AMD XP on my friend's system. He uses Shuttle AK 31A. It's pretty good imo,


just make sure you flash the bios to the xp ready one.

Shuttle AK31A. 4 dimm slots, very inexpensive and running my XP 1600 at 1612 MHz rock stable.

I say EPOX EP-8KHA+ !!! Great board: FAST and VERY STABLE!! not to mention easy to setup..

My votes in for the Shuttle AK31. Very stable...and a nice price. You won't go wrong with the Epox, though.

As far as I can see, it breaks down like this:

1. Shuttle AK 31 if you're on a budget.

2. Epox 8KHA+ if you need a high quality perfomer (just as good as ASUS IMO and for less).

3. SOYO Dragon if you're looking for a high quality integrated board (that looks purdy).

epox 8kha+. mine has been running stable for over a week with no problems. very fast and easy to set up. its a toss up between the 8kha+ and the ak31a. it depends on your budget, and what features you really want.
