what motherboard would you recomend?

I currently have an EPOX 8K7A. I'm very happy with it but I just want a better board for gaming and preferably has 4 IDE controllers. I was looking at two boards both from EPOX. "M762A" and "8K3A". The M762A is a dual processor but thats ok. I think dual processors are better anyways in some casses. I just want your guys opinions on a good Gaming Motherboard.

Don't really care about cost
Would LIKE 4 IDE contollers
ATHLON
OverClocking isn't really a must but would be nice
DDR memory

I don't see anything wrong with the one you have. Get a better video card if you are after "great gaming". That vodoo is dead.

As far as extra IDE ports go, you can just get an add on PCI card.

You likely will be dissappointed in a dually gaming system also. Don't waste your money IMO. Dually isn't for gaming.

I just set up an MSI K7N420 for a friend and I must say I am impressed at its performance and value so far. The 415 lacks the onboard vid and tends to be more popular with the "gamers".

I love my Soyo Dragon +, it's great for gaming, fast and stable, and 4 IDE controlers.

IMHO you don't need a new motherboard for gaming, all you need is a better videocard. When you decide to add more IDE devices, get a controller card. If you must buy now, pick up a GF4 Ti4400. If you can wait a little while longer, get the ti4200.
