I was scanning ebay for a multi card reader. I need something for my xD, SD, and CF cards but I don't want to get stuck with junk.

Reliability, speed, and overall quality. i will spend the extra buck if it's worth it.

Anyone happy with theirs enough to recommend?

meh, I've had bad luck w/ the cheap stuff unfortunately. two broke w/in a few months, got a sandisk.. somehow I broke the ability to write on SD cards (the write protect was too sensitive). I broke it completely trying to "fix it" heh.

I went back to a cheap one and it's no where near USB 2.0 speeds. It wasn't worth the time to RMA either.

thank you for the replys and good point about sdhc compatibility. I will definitely be using those cards.

What do you guys think about http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820609240

super talent has a pretty stable reputation (as far as ram goes at least).

$12 shipped to me is not bad i guess! They're 18+ shipping on ebay.

Edit- Damn nm.. It says all in one and reads SDHC but not xD's (which I need for the f31fd)

I have the Kingston FCR-HS215/1, about $20 shipped:

http://www.adorama.com/KG151R....ton%20reader&item_no=2

Today I hit 15 MB/s transferring data from a Class 4 SDHC microSD card through a regular SD card adapter.

Transferring to a SanDisk Extreme 3, I hit 13.5 MB/s and did 1.5GB in under 2 minutes.
Transferring from the Extreme 3, I hit 15 MB/s.

Unlike the one you linked above, the Kingston creates 4 drives on your computer, one for each of its card slots. I actually like this because then you can transfer data from, say, an SD card to a CF card at the same time.

I'm actually getting this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820300103 since it also includes a USB hub. A little pricey, but needed since we're running out of usb ports on the wife's desktop.

extra usb ports are always nice to have but it doesnt take xD or SDHC.. the two main formats I will be using.

I think the SDHC compatibility is especially important. Anything over 4GB for a regular SD card is going to be SDHC. If you have a smartphone, 4GB and up will require an SDHC microSD card. For digicams that don't have video recording limits, a large capacity 6 or 8GB SDHC card may be nice to have.

Cool, show me a good monitor that reads SDHC and xD's.

Actually, my transcend reader came in today and it's perfect. it actually reads and writes xD cards about 3 times faster than I've ever been able to.

Touche... I just thought of my needs for CF.

Glad you found a reader that you're happy with.
