I would rip the dealership doors off their hinges to hurl a pile of money at a salesman to get an ID.3 GTX but since VW thinks Americans only by SUVs....

seriously....VW puts out a lot of nice cars in Europe, and we basically get none of them (The California Microbus, for one. )

I'd love it if the interior doesn't take the MK8 R video game design cues, but I have my doubts.

However...this thing must be heavy as crap. AWD, +80 horses and +100 torques, and this thing still is only about as fast as my 2019 GTI. hmm....The Mk8 R with pretty much the same power beats this thing by about 2 seconds. ...2 seconds!

I saw one approaching me in the opposite lane a few years ago in my neighborhood. Same problem, haha. The only thing I could think at the time is how that dude is able to see out the windows.

The dealer I ordered my '23 Mach-E GT Performance Edition through got a '21 GT in so I headed down right away to check it out and take it for a test drive. While I know it's not exactly the same I took the opportunity to actually sit in one and drive one before I spend $80K on a Ford.

It drove nice and looks good but the interior is decidedly Ford. I just don't understand how an $80K vehicle can have the same steering wheel as our $30K Maverick. The acceleration of an EV is just really mind blowing and never gets old.

Anyway, how about some pics? After test driving this one I can't wait for mine to be delivered!

I can't help but think about just how easily a slammed truck will scrape on speed bumps and driveways. Makes a Lamborghini seem more practical.

I've been seeing more & more Kia EV6's around. Kind of has an 80's-futuristic vibe to it. I like it!

It's also fun to see more cars at the chargers. My local Walmart has a ton of EV chargers in the parking lot & I didn't see a single Tesla last visit...there were Kia's, VW's, Honda's, etc. Really cool to see more market variety & consumer adopting of electric vehicles! Still waiting on my Cybertruck, haha!

Man, I can't get over how ugly the new Jeep Wagoneer is. Yuck! Not bad in pictures, but especially from the back, I really don't like it in person! Which is funny because so many people I've talked to really love it! Polarizing design I guess. Kind of like the new Supra...looks cool in pictures, but I oddly didn't care for the design in-person!

I really appreciate that they made the Ioniq 5. It's a very unique car, sort of 80's-futuristic-retro. I like the Kia EV6 better design-wise, but the Ioniqu definitely stands out & I love weird cars!!
