what new gpu should I get.
I currently got r9 380
I got 4k monitor and want to game at 4k
I got options:
r9 nano
r9 390x
rx 480
does nay one what fps each will give estimate?

Of those, the Nano is the best for 4K.

Honestly...today I would buy the 8GB RX 480..and go with an AIB from someone like Sapphire. That will get you 95% of the performance of a 390X with all the new standards (HDMI 2.0, DP 1.3) and can be had for $250ish currently. All three of those cards are pretty close in raw performance.

Try to find a "clearance" Fury, they've been as low as $300 (+ $25 paypal discount).

The Nano and 390X are maybe only 5-10% faster at 4K. And it depends greatly on what games he's playing at 4K...if he's playing older games and watching movies than all those cards will run 4K flawlessly. If he's trying to max out the newest games at 4K then none of those cards are a good choice.

If you're 100% set on AMD, you'll pretty much need dual cards to have any respectable frame rate at medium settings on 4k. 2x 290/390/RX480. Dual cards are a poor solution though as they frequently don't work right. If you're not 100% set on AMD I'd go with a single 1070 if you're in the $400 range or wait for GP102 and Vega to come out and grab the real high end. Those will likely finally be enough to push 4k at decent framerates with decent settings on a single GPU. I'd personally wait for GP102 or Vega if I was a 4k gamer. I'm waiting for those as a "3K" gamer personally (3x1080p eyefinity aka 3/4 of 4k). My current 290x2 CF struggles at my resolution so 4k is going to be worse yet. Youd have to turn down settings to keep a good frame rate

I got an Brand New ASUS R9-NANO in White for sale - http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2481334 plug - lol. I believe the FIJI GPUs from AMD are still their fastest Vulkan and DX12 chips for 4K (albeit, with only 4GB of VRAM) until the VEGA parts come out. Nevertheless, considering the NANO's are considerably more expensive than the RX480's, not sure if they make a lot of sense.

I personally bought a GTX1070, nevertheless - not really sure why Vulkan didn't show an increase on my card. Really sounds like AMD will benefit more from Vulkan and DX12.
