The admissions staff is the first point of contact about payment. So there goes your premise.

Preposterous is not a synonym for false.

What is the name of this charity? The admissions staff takes down insurance information, they do not make determinations of the patients ability to pay, nor would they be the people who would try and work out a payment plan.

If there is a charity out there that is just paying patients' hospital bills without even determining if they can pay them on their own that must be an awfully special charity indeed. I would love to learn more about it.

still have nothing.

Who really is full of shit here?

Your full of shit because your calling me a liar, and saying I'm parroting some talking points. But I've came out with that thought since Obama gave his I will not negotiate speech after/during the shooting at the navy base.

At the same time the asshole in the whitehouse is talking to Assad who just gassed his people, he's saying he wont talk to the republicans about the debt ceiling.

Yet you lmsm sheep blame the republicans for not 'compromising'. The great uniter is nothing more then the greatest divider.

Still have nothing? I gave mine opinion. Are you not smart enough to read and understand it? I don't give a shit one way or another as long as the military gets paid. How hard is it to understand what I wrote?

your should be you're.

Where did I blame anyone for not compromising? Where did I blame the GOP or Obama (for not compromising)?

...and you're still a liar on the talking points that you claim to have made up all on your own.

I would also like the name and location of the hospital so I can call them to see how they handle billing when people don't have insurance. Why should I call my local hospital when I can call the hospital in question.

So the admission staff asked her if she was going to pay or not?

I don't know. Employment status is certainly a question they would ask, and she didn't have a job at that time. They would also have asked whether she had sought treatment from a doctor, which she hadn't.

I don't know the name of the charity. Since it's a Catholic hospital, a Catholic charity would be my first guess.

Can I assume that she picked up a job right after that since she had the ability and wanted to pay the bill?

What do you call the delays the President has made to the ACA, such as the employer mandate? He certainly bypassed Congress there.

You're equating a decision to delay part of a constitutionally affirmed piece of legislation to threatening to shut down the federal government unless a list of demands are met? I can't see how any reasonable person who consider those two things to be similar.

No, I'm equating the delay to the part of your post that I bolded.

So you can call me more names, instead of continuing a civil discussion? No, thanks.

Well, I guess since you won't answer any questions of relevance, there is nothing left but to keep assuming whatever we want and that the previous called names are true. So be it.

Want to give the name and location of the hospital so that I may contact them?

It's a Catholic hospital. Pick one.

How about give the name and location so that I may contact the correct one?

Because it's none of your business which one. It's quite clear that you want to get down in the weeds on this, to find some way to dismiss everything I've said.

Doesn't change the fact that you're not offering any solutions better than what we have. Dragging everyone down to the lowest common denominator is not a viable solution.

So you don't want to answer the question? No other conclusion than you're making it all up then. So be it.

My solution would give cheaper healthcare to those that pay. Why should I and the rest of paying society have to pay for EVERYONE else? Why shouldn't they have some skin in the game, as the common expression goes?

Why won't you answer a question if you want a 'civil' conversation then? Why is it none of my business when I'm asking a general question to a hospital of their billing practices? Why do you get to decide it's my business or not to ask them a question? Afraid that I'll actually 'prove' that everything that you have posted is a bold face lie? If you're not lying, what do you have to lose?

Hell, I'll even man up on this very forum and retract every single thing I've said about you and your friend if the hospital confirms that this is a standard practice.

Or you could admit that you simply don't have enough facts to confirm or deny. But that clearly doesn't fit with your desired POV, so you'll go right to the conclusion that makes you feel better.

GL with that.

So you are afraid to answer the question (because it clearly could hurt your desired POV)? I'm looking for the facts but you refuse to assist in getting them.

I've given you all of the relevant facts, and you've chosen to ignore them.

You told me to call the hospital to check it out. Give me the name and location and I will. How hard can it be to answer the question?

I'll even call a few of the local hospitals (St. Joes, Central Baptist, etc) to see how they compare to the one your friend went to, just to give a fair comparison.

My prediction is that if there is a shut down Ted Cruz will be the fall guy and republicans will blame him. This way they can deny having supported a shut down and make it look like they aren't partisan (like they would be if they blamed it on the dems), and it will have the added affect of pushing out or minimizing the tea party element of the caucus' influence.

You're approaching this as if these were rational actors instead of doomsday cultists. Failure will only convince them more of how right they are.

For Ted cruz and his supporters, you are correct. Everyone else, including republicans, know just how wrong Cruz is.

The House is working today. The Senate? They decided to take the day off. I guess we know how important all this really is. Not very much is the message I get from ol' Dingy Harry.

You're 73 Harry, time to smell the roses.
