The federal government was never intended to employ so many people. We need a smaller government, one that does not act like a terrorist organization towards its citizens.

Shut down all non-essential programs, and leave them shutdown.

This fight over obama-care is one that has needed to happen for almost 40 years. Someone needed to draw a line in the sand back in the 1970s. If parts of the government would have shutdown in the 1970s, and stayed shutdown, maybe we would not have the debt we have now.

I don't entirely disagree with you on the debt front. But this is the absolute wrong time to have such conversations. These matters should be discussed in general legislative settings.. not when it's the time to pay the bills that were already promised to be paid.
