what on earth is on my leg?

Ripped a tick out of my dog this morning... he seemed happy to see it gone.

Pulled one outta my dog not too long ago. Had to pull pretty hard. covered the bite in neosporin and it seemed to heal ok

OP, what did you end up doing with it? It's not still on your leg is it?

I pulled it out with some tweezers after I read the first few replies to this thread, and at the time leaving the head in my body or keeping the tick to get it tested didn't even cross my mind...

It came out after a couple tugs and I threw it down the sink, then I read the rest of the replies and felt pretty dumb/worried, but I've watched the area pretty close since I originally posted this and it looked like a little red sore for a while, but now it's almost all gone.
