what or who brought you to anandtech?

I joined with an account back in '99 or something. But I never posted. Just made a new one in 2004 to waste time during high school

Edit: And it was my cousin who got me going to AT - I paid him money to build me a computer based on a Celeron 300A back in '97 or something. He left a favorites link to AT in the IE browser :laugh:

I found this site when looking for information on CPUs about 4 years ago. I started reading the articles to learn and then slowly ventured into the forums to find out more specific information. It then grew out from just hardware information into (for better or worse) ATOT and P&N

In high school I had a lot of study halls during my junior/senior year and my boyfriend (now fiance) and I needed a way to talk because he was in college at the time but generally had free time when I had study halls. So he showed me Anandtech and we would PM each other back and forth as a way to make plans for after school/etc. Now he never gets on here. Either way, here I am.

I was reading anandtech during the first year, a buddy was like "check out this guy's site, he knows his sh*t." I was really into hardware then so I read, and lurked a lot in the forums when they started and decided to start up. A lot has changed since then for sure!

I've been lurking since the days when Tom's was on Delphi. AT was bit too restrictive for me so I just lurked.

I came here to support Anand as a brother of The BrotherHood Of The CPU. Tom's Hardware also mentioned Anandtech to his reader to show support for the brilliant young man Anand and to help build his site. I also discovered Tom's Hardware through Tweakit.com and TheBrotherHoodOfTheCPU.

And, became a permanent resident here once TheBrotherHoodOfTheCPU & Tweakit became inoperative, and Aceshardware lacks update & reviews.

I didn't need help with anything. I just happened to start reading OT and laughed so much I had to keep returning. I lurked around for a year before biting the bullet and joining up.
