Actually, it's quite plausible as a joke at Intel's expense. A lame one at that.
It's just that deliberately making fun of a company's products isn't my cup of tea. I prefer to give em the benefit of the doubt. Don't get me wrong, i'm no Intel fan. Heck, i'm not even an AMD fan even though i love my Duron.
If a company can give me good products which are kind to my wallet, i'm all for it. My principle is to only be loyal to my self when buying and i generally keep far away whenever people trash a particular company or product.

Doesn't matter what tone it is, try selling a chinese guy phone number, license plate, social security number, credit card number with more than one "4" no Chinese dude wants any 4 in any of their number... even Address..

Actually the article is quite correct. The pronouciation of "P" as fart is in Mandarin is "pei", in which sounds almost like "pee". Mind you Mandarin doesn't have english alphabets. 4 is also quite correct. Many chinese people avoid the number 4, due to its chinese pronounciation that sounds exactly like the word "death". You don't see many chinese living in houses 44, or 24 or any combination of the number. I am chinese and I know what he's talking about, but it wasn't even funny. Stupid infact.
However, I find the issue quite LAMe and a cheap jab at Intel.
it's definitely true about the 4 part. Althought 4 does not directly equal death, in mandarin, 4 and dead sound almost the same. In chinese hospitals, you won't find a 4th floor because when pronounced, it sounds like "dead floor". Also they don't like white. My friend has this story at a car rental place where a chinese women came in to rent a car, but insisted that it not be white and not have the number 4 on the plates.
Maybe that's cause my mental age is sometimes like 15 years less than my physical age, but whatever, Im having fun, some of you should try it, you'll love it.
