Today for example i choose http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-84LM9600-led-tv
now u tell me how do u will calculate which pro, gpu(how many),how much ram i gonna need to play crysis 3(demanding games like it) at high settings.
i hope i will learn new things from ur reply.

3840 x 2160p <--- resolution....

I think 2 x 780's or 2 x titans or even 2 x 7970's would do it..

As i have seen guys game on 3 x 30's with 3 card setups.
And 3 x 30 > 4K

(2560x1600 x 3) = 3 x 30's ~ 12.2 million pixils
(3840 x 2160) = 8.2 million pixils.

So yeah... a 2 x Top Class GPU's should easily do it.

However that 4k Monitor is oh so much sexier then 3 x 30's.. :X

I only see HDMI as the highest level input. How do you get 3840x2160 to the screen?

It won't do that. I saw a review with a 4k monitor and it was painfully obvious, we can't run anything at high settings @ 4k with the current technology.

HDMI 1.4a supports 4K... at 30 Hz.

So, uh yeah... you would never use that TV at 4K for a gaming PC.

EDIT:

Oh, and HDMI 1.4b should support 4K at 60Hz since it supports 1080p120 and 4K is 2x the resolution of 1080p. However, no one has ever implemented 1.4b that I've seen.

The Anandtech review turned all settings to ultra, which was probably a bit of overkill compared to the people that Aig might be referring to. For example, some of those games use SSAO, which renders parts or all of the scene at a higher resolution.

I was hoping someone would mention that. With the right ports, any two current generation cards should provide adequate gaming capability for more people.

Still, given the hoops you have to jump through to get 60Hz, you might be better off waiting until October when the new Volcanic Islands cards land and have the improved Display Port interfaces.

I don't think 4k gaming is very practical right now. We don't really have the interface or the GPU grunt to really do it well.

But at the extreme its doable. You are certainly looking at multiple cards, ideally 3 to 4 top end cards (780s or titans)and the fastest over clocked CPU you can get. This almost certainly means x79 with ib-e 4960X over clocked so you have the pci-e bandwidth to put all those cards in. Not quite the best CPU for gaming but 4 cards on normal has well is going to show limited bandwidth.

You will likely be using display port to get the image and 60hz as well. Should work OK but the frame rate on high with crysis might not be all you hope even with this expensive setup.

Not really going to help in the case of the OP. He's asking about a TV, which is stuck at 2160p30 since it's on HDMI 1.4a. Honestly, I don't think TV makers really care about 60Hz with 4K, because the amount of people that would even use that resolution are just incredibly small. Consoles, TV and movies are your biggest motivators, and none of those care about 60Hz at 4K. Right now, consoles do care about 60Hz at 1080p, which HDMI 1.4a can do (that's actually it's max at 1080p -- you need 1.4b for 120Hz).

or drop down the medium quality (if you are playing the latest greatest) and suffice with one 760 gtx

Or just turn off AA. Quad SLI/Crossfire are not needed to game at 4K. Its more of a pain to get a decent refresh rate with current ports.
