I have three pillows I am always rotating in and out and in different configurations, I need a good pillow! I don't like one too soft or too firm, any suggestions?

I received the Brookstone BioSense for Christmas. It is a great pillow for side sleepers. But I tend to wake up on my back. After three months of use, I started getting super bad headaches. Realized the pillow was forcing my neck and head at an angle that over time started leaking spinal cord fluid into my skull, from which the headaches developed. I realized this when I tilted my head to one side, the pain would gradually shift to the lowest side of my skull due to gravity. I had to hold my head up straight or the pain was unbearable. Luckily, the headaches went away when I stopped using the pillow.

We have 5 pillows. My wife picks the best ones and I use the ones that she rejects. I have no idea what type of pillow I use.

While I haven't tried one yet, I have been told by a few people that the MyPillow is pretty darn good, and is washable as well.

Yeah, I used to have a lot of neck issues, lately hardly any. I don't like too tall a pillow, it has to be pretty shallow, otherwise my neck gets too bent. About 11 years ago I bought a memory foam pillow from Overstock.com. I guess that's the one I'm using:

Micro-Memory Foam Pillow $29.99 (at the time)

I've had it over ten years but I still really like it. It seems fine.

If I'm sleeping in a strange bed and I don't like the pillows I'll just use no pillow at all. I don't want a neck ache. During the night I several times rotate my pillow 90 degrees or back 90 degrees the other way, depending if I'm on my side or my stomach. I never sleep on my back (i.e. during the night)... except when I nap, then I almost always sleep on my back! I'm weird that way.

It's the best. Everything else I've used kills my neck.
Link?

I like down/feather. If one isn't firm enough, I can fold it til it is.

Been using feather pillows since I can remember. They drastically over stuff them now though. The few new pillows I've bought I have had to cut open and discard half the stuffing.

Some expensive-ass one from Ikea. It's down-filled (my first one). It's more firm than my other cheap Walmart pillows, and it kind of will leave an impression instead of springing back (I guess due to the down?), but I like it quite a bit.

EDIT: I think it's this one: Ikea Knavel

If a pillow is doing this you have serious issues and need to go to a doctor.

Spinal fluid leaking, riiiight.

Link? Name? Something to go on...

...Yeah, I've seen them before but help me find this... TIA, I have a pinched nerve in my neck (C6).

Amazon shows several pillows that look similar, what's that one exactly?

PT in class last week sized me up, said I need a double-thick pillow for sleeping on my back. That may be why I never do. For sleeping on my side, I figure single thickness, whatever that is. I figure that's what I'm using. This pillow looks like you can reverse it and have single on one side, double on the other (?), which may work for me for multiple positions.

BTW, in searching for pillow threads I came upon this very old but humongous thread here (1200+ posts):

The Unofficial Memory Foam/Visco Elastic/NASA Pillow Thread
