What program do you use to watch DVDs?

I don't have cable or a DVD player for my TV but I have one for my computer so that's where I watch all my moves. Power DVD 5 hasn't been working for weeks now. It just went out all of a sudden. It's strange cause I even uninstalled and did a fresh install and it's still not working. Window's Media Player is acting up so it just freezes mid screen. So I want to watch Two Towers and fall asleep (I'm sick ) and I can't. So two questions...

1. What program do you watch DVDs with?

2. Is it a free DL by chance?

I think Media Player Classic can do it, though you might have to mess around with settings a bit.

NVDVD 2.0 on my nvidia box and powerdvd xp on the ati box.

I had tons of problems with my LG drive and Power DVD so I dumped it for WinDVD and haven't had a problem since.

As others have said, WMP can do it, but you must have a dvd software program installed.

Videolan can play DVD and pretty much anything. It's free open source program.

definitely Zoom Player Pro. Of course, you must have a dvd codec installed, but Zoom Player Pro owns all once you get it up and running with a program called ffdshow. go Here to learn how to properly set up the Zoom player/ffdshow combo. As i said it owns all if you set it up properly, and there are so many options available in the program. The picture quality can be incredibly sharp with ffdshow. Windvd, WMP, and Powerdvd look simpleton once you see how many options are available with ZPP.

PowerDVD XP with some region unlocking stuff cause I watched too many Region 1 DVDs and broke it. I've had success trying ASUSDVD when PowerDVD didn't work.

PowerDVD and WMP both stopped working or started acting funky? Before buying WinDVD, make sure it's not your DVD drive that's packing it in. You should be able to get a Trial Version of WinDVD, try it out, if it too won't work start considering a clean Windows re-install or new DVD Drive.

Could try to Update WMP. Did you, by chance, install some video codecs around the time PowerDVD quit working?
