What RAM should i get?????

I'm looking at getting MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard and a AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 CPU.

Now the board says to use DDR3 2133 OC. What does that translate to?

I'll be loading VMware ESX server on it and running multiple Vm's of XP, 2003 server 2008 server.

Would Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 be a good choice?

Get the cheapest DDR3 you can get your hands on. Dollar-for-dollar memory has the smallest impact on performance of any part. Quantity > quality in this case.

Now would ANY DDR3 memory work? Or does it need to be a certain type of DDR3?

I'd say get something that will do DDR3-1600 which work off low voltage (1.5V or lower) ... that I believe should last you for a while.
The reason for looking for a low voltage is that in case (in case really) you want to move to Intel's camp sometime in the future then you can take the RAM along.

The Newegg memory specs for the MB are listed incorrectly.
The spec on the memory is DDR3 1600 OC not DDR3 2133 OC, like Newegg has listed.

Good point Blain. I don't recall EVER hearing of an AMD memory controller hitting 2133 yet, even under liquid helium cooling.

I would suggest an 8GB kit in this case if you are running multiple VMs.
