What resolution do you game at?

1440p @ 144Hz for my main monitor and 1440p @ 60Hz on a side monitor driven by a 1070.

I have zero consideration for going higher resolution as my 750Ti cannot handle all modern games. When I upgrade next, it'll be to enjoy new games at 1080p.

Higher Hz is interesting... but I've never witnessed it, so I don't know what I'm missing.

triple dell u3014. quad 290x can barely maintain 60fps+. dips are hitting the low 50's. this is with 2x msaa. 4x msaa bumps into the 4gb vram wall.

as soon as vega10 come out. will get 4 of those. no gp102. sli bridge needs to die.

Been on 4K since 2013. Back then it was mostly for sharp textures on isometric titles since I mostly played RTS/world-building games. Now with the extra GPU hardware catching up it's possible to play AAA at that res.

Higher refresh rates are so worth it. More so than pixels by a country mile, as long as you can hit 90+ FPS and/or have variable refresh rate. I made the mistake of upgrading from 1080p144 to 1440p60 and going back wasn't fun. 60 FPS kinda stops feeling smooth.

the fps question is about fluidity. fluidity comes from frame times.

"IF" frame time is excellent. 60fps is fluid. no need for higher fps.

OTOH "if" frame times is a mess. even 144fps is a stutter fest.

2560X1600 @ 60Hz. Just got a Titan XP to replace my CF 290x setup... Kinda overkill and I'm regretting my purchase as I just handed Nvidia so much cash that will only be worth 50% next year. Worse depreciation than a car.... Considering going down to a 1080/1070....

1920x1200 (still). I have a lovely seven year old HP w2558hc - 25.5" TN with a glossy screen. I have it calibrated with a color meter and it looks pretty darn awesome.

1920 x 1080, with i5 2400 and rx 480, will jump to 4k straight after 2-3 years with new computer. I dont see a reason to upgrade to 4k now as I will need sli.

2560x1440 144Hz. Aka the sweet spot, especially with Freesync and the option for backlight strobing. Let those undemanding games shine at 144Hz. The more intensive graphical games I settle for at least a 60FPS average.

5120 x 2880, but sometimes some games just don't take SLI so I drop back down to 2560 x 1440.
