Depends on the game. BF2, Fear, Age of Empires 3, I run those at 1280X960.
All that came out before that, I run at the highest resolution they allow, which is usually 2048x1536. Some games only go up to 1600x1200, so on those, I run with some AA on.
1920x1200 where I can IE BF2 + CS:S ussually 0xAA and 8X AF. I would be satisfied for awhile if I could run 2x AA but I can't at a comfortable frame rate so I need to upgrade soon.
Turn down the resolution to 1600*1200 or 1280*1024 and 2xAA will work fine. The X800XT is a fine video card. You don't need to upgrade it yet especially since you're playing at 1920*1200. Just turn down the resolution and the X800XT will run like a champ.
1920x1200 FTW!! I can't stand to look at my old 19" anymore. It's like looking through a square window. Even my 24" could use more peripheral real estate, but for most games it's perfect.
My standards are run everything at least max quality and 4xAA/8xAF, HDR depending on frame requirements, and in most games I can bump up to 6/16 with Adaptive/HighQual. However, strangely enough, Far Cry is still a killer with AA and especially Adaptive with all those trees. HDR is pretty nice in it though.
