What should I be looking for as far as cooling for an i7 920 to get it to 4GHz?

OP you are still trying to decide.....

To reiterate, any coolers on the list below:

- Thermalright 120 Extreme
- IFX-14
- Scythe Mugen 2
- Megahalems/Megashadow
- Noctua NH-D14 (Probably the best air right now)
http://www.clunk.org.uk/reviews/noctua-nh-d14-premium-cpu-cooler-review/Page-6.html
- Alpenfohn Nordwand or Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme
- Thermolab Baram
- Corsair H50 (liquid)
- Xigmatek Thor's Hammer
- Zalman CNPS10x Extreme

Will all hit 4.0ghz-4.1ghz on a 920. So at this point it all comes down to price. But even Cogage True Spirit for $40 should be able to 4.0ghz.

If we are talking about 4.3ghz+, then we are talking water cooling most likely or Noctua D14:

Also dual fan IFX-14 will beat the Corsair H50 (and so will dual fan D14).

I like the Corsair H50 for the simple fact that there is not a huge block of metal hanging off the CPU mounts. The bulk of the weight can be attached to the case itself.

Just out of curiosity why isn't this Noctua NH-D14 sold on newegg?
I want to get the best air cooler I can get but I don't trust any of these little sites.

Hey Donnie, unfortunately Newegg doesn't carry some of the best air coolers. I am not sure why. But I can reassure you that sites like SVC.com, Sidewindercomputers, heatsinkfactory.com are all legitimate specialty sites. Also, remember that your credit card company gives you a piece of mind in case you get scammed.
