Ok i just built a new rig a few weeks ago
P4 1.8a
asus p4t533-c
512mb (2 256 sticks) of samsung original pc 800 rdram
enermax whisper 350 watt psu
thermaltake volcano 7+ hsf
toshiba dvd
phillips 24x10x32 cdr
18gb and 60 gb 7200 rpm hds
gf4 ti 4400 gainward golden sample 128mb ddr
sound blaster live 5.1 xgamer
Ok now oridingall i had hoped to oc this system to 2.4ghz pc 1066 with the 133/33 fsb at 4x settings...... now i can get everything to work rock solid stable at 2.4ghz and pc 800 (3x multiplier) at 1.525vcore. But if i try to set it to 4x for pc 1066 i cant get it stable at any vcore tho it lasted longer at 1.575,1.6,1.625 vcore (1 hour prime 95) then any other vcore (less then 10 min prime 95), althought it WOULD post and load windows at every vcore from 1.525 up.
Now my question is.... should i just go out and buy some pc1066 kingston rdram? Should i go and buy into a ddr setup with an asus p4b533-v and some corsair pc3200 ddr? What kind of performance increase over what i have would i get with either setup? Does it justify the $300(rdram)-350 (ddr setup) it would cost?
Right now im trying to see if i can get the rig stable at 138/34 with the 3x multiplier for 2.48ghz and pc 830...... been running prime95 for about 2 hours now ... lookin good...
