What should I upgrade?

I have around 350 bucks that is burning a hole in my pocket, and i need to buy something. I have a Athlon 800, GeForce2GTS, Sound blaster live value, 256 megs ram, a 30GB HD that's full with 5,000+ mp3's and a bunch of games, and Klipsch 4.1 promedias. I have no idea on the motherboard but i'm just gonna say that it sucks. If I bought a new cpu, i'd be getting a new mobo as well. What would be the best thing(s) to buy with around that amount of money?

change the SB Live value to an Audigy (74$ incl. shipping) + CardExpert GF3 for $283

That's $349 shipped

2 sounds good, and by the time the GF3 has games that are designed for it you'll have another $200 burning a hole in your pocket

Thanks ice, 2 would probably be the best. There are no games i can't play quite yet so a GF3 is overkill right now. i wonder how much better my klipsch's would sound with the audigy. considering every second i'm on the computer i'm listening to music that'd be the first thing to buy. Your system still has a bit of juice left.

I'd wait for the KT266a boards and nForce to hit the streets (say 3-4 weeks). Then you can possibly look at a board with significantly better performance than anything currently available. Combine that with some DDR ram and a better CPU and you have the heart of a kick ass rig. If Nforce turns out to be good then the onboard sound 'may' nullify any need to look at an Audigy,

A better graphics card will certainly improve gaming performce but again there are some new cards out in the next 3-4 weeks (GeForce Ti and Ati 8500, 7500).

Hold on to that cash a little longer dude . I don't normally advise waiting but in this case it is worth it
