I'm ready to go today.

A call to my Mom, and just the feeling of knowing I've made a positive difference in peoples lives, is enough. Sure there are things I've not done here, but I'll go on doing and learning forever, that's the cool part.

Weezergirl:
I would say do what you always dreamed of.
Or if you can't think of anything, do cool things like parasailing, deep sea-diving, ballooning, hand-gliding. Or even if it's just visiting a place you always wanted to see.
I'm quite lucky! I've already done 5 things on my list of stuff I want to do before I die. That's pretty amazing.
I have:
-Gone to Europe
-Joined a choir and performed "Handel's Messiah"
-Gone to a Roller Coaster Park and ridden EVERY ride(I'm terrified of roller coasters yet I did it!!)
-Married the guy of my dreams...and done the nasty
-Became a mother

Other things on my list are: become a professional dancer, painter and a few extremely frightening things(to me) like parasailing, bunji-jumping, etc.
I doubt I will be able to do all of them. But somehow I'm not upset about it! I've been very blessed so if I knew I was going to die my only sorrow would be that my family would suffer for a time.

Edit: oh, I just thought of the other thing I've always wanted to do--sounds crazy but I'd love to work at an orphanage helping the children. I don't know if there are orphanages in big 1st world countries but there are several where I come from and I always wanted to work in one and be with the children. Eh, softy/motherly heart, I suppose...

buy some really good life insurance -- then leave the money to my siblings or family. if no family, then leave it to a foundation in my name...

well, I had an idea about what I would say in a reply to this thread before I entered it...

then after reading all these cheezy cop-out lame answers like "thank Jesus" and "write a poem"

I think I'm gonna have to stick with my first instincts and say

do two chicks at the same time. :Q

<< Take a trip to Ketchikan, Alaska. Go on a moonlight cruise under the Aurora. See a few Orcas in their natural environment. This is a once in a lifetime experience that will change you forever >>

Alaska is fabulous. If you live in the Pacific Northwest of America you can go to the San Juan Islands to see Orcas, too.

Give my brother all that he wants. I'd buy him that Dodge Viper, every football card he's ever wanted, introduce him to his childhood heroes...take him to every rollercoaster(he loves them), pull the people who taunted him in school out of wherever the hell they are and hang them by their balls in front of the NBC Today show window. Um...

Yea. As for myself...I want to catapault off the U.S.S. Enterprise in an F-14D Tomcat. After landing, I'd go back up in a prop driven aircraft and jump out of the plane. Skydiving baby!

I see two patterns of responses: A) What do I want to do before I die?; and B) What would I do if I knew I would die tomorrow? I think the answer to those two could be quite different. The first question leaves open the possibility of setting and achieving goals, whereas the second one doesn't offer that possibility but instead leaves you really questioning what's important in your life: is it spending tender moments with loved ones or indulging in completely selfish desires? I think my immediate temptation would be to do something completely selfish in that situation and after all, why not? It's not like you're going to have any chance to feel remorseful for it? (Assuming you don't believe in an after-life at all, or at least not one that would have any correlation to acts done on earth) But at the same time you have the opportunity to show an extraordinary amount of character and dignity by sacrificing selfish desires and concentrating on letting those close to you know the impact they've made on your life. I think the second question is much more interesting than the first and tells more about a person's true character. As for me personally, I wish I could be as resolute as my father. He is 58 years old, a recovering heart patient, and a very spiritual man. He told me recently that if he were to ever die suddenly he just wanted me to know that I should never question whether or not there was something else I could have done for him, because no matter what I could think of, I already had. It's an extremely touching sentiment that I will never forget.

<< this is so much fun, they are amazing animals! if you are short of cash, a good substitute is the SeaWorld program which is like $250 bucks and you get to come up close and personal with the killer whales. >>

Please do NOT go to SeaWorld. Yes, you may see an Orca up close, but captive whales are so much different than wild ones. The more I see them in the wild, the more it makes me sick thinking about all the ones kept in concrete pools for profit. :|

Cheers!

Lady Luck has allowed me the opportunity to experience many things in my life and fortunately, I had the wisdom to actually savor each and every one of them.

Those that I would HIGHLY recommend are:

Sail on a Tall Ship
Horseback riding on the beach at sunset
Bathe nude in a natural hotspring
Swim with dolphins, AND...
Drive as fast as you can in a police cruiser with the lights on!

Yep. I've done that too!

Most importantly...don't EVER allow yourself to experience regret.
